Scope and Contents This collection includes brief business histories and timelines for 26 businesses from the Augusta, Ga. area. The histories were collected by the Augusta Richmond County Historical Society for an event in the fall of 1988, entitled "Golden Business of Richmond County," which highlighted the business history of the area. The Augusta-Richmond County vertical files collection contains information on a range of local organizations, families, and individuals. Most files contain pamphlets, newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, and/or photocopies of historical documents. The collection is no longer being actively added to, but can serve as a historical resource for topics related to the history of the Augusta area.

This collection is comprised of materials relating to the Coleman and Catlett families, collected by Dr. Warren Soleman in the course of geneaolgical research into the families. Collection materials include financial records, legal documents, and correspondence from various members of the Catlett and Coleman families, as well as the later materials of Dr. Warren Coleman, including his geneaology research materials, and correspondence relating to his genealogical research.

This collection is comprised of a single copy of the "New road map of Richmond, Burke, Screven, Jenkins, Emanuel, and Bulloch Counties, S.E. Georgia. The map depicts roads in the above counties, with a scale in miles. It was published by the Hudgins Company in Atlanta, Georgia, 1911.

The collection consists of clippings, letters, booklets, brochures, photographs, hand-written notes, largely about Augusta and Richmond County, but includes genealogies and materials about other subjects of interest to Mrs. Winter.
